Beach wedding in Khao Lak

 

There was no question that Nicole and Aleksandar would say “I do” at a romantic beach wedding in Khao Lak.

After all, the two have been traveling to the vacation resort in the south of Thailand for many years.

Thailand, and Khao Lak in particular, had become something of a second home for our bridal couple.

After Nicole contacted us and expressed her basic wishes, it quickly became clear that Buddhist, Thai traditions should also play a role on the wedding day.

And so, before the western beach wedding in Khao Lak, we also planned a monk blessing ceremony in a beautiful temple.

This typical Buddhist blessing is also suitable for non-Buddhists and is very impressive. According to Thai belief, this blessing brings happiness and harmony to the bride and groom.

This ceremony includes the monks praying, a blessing with holy water and the presentation of gifts and donations to the monks.

The wedding ceremony

In the meantime, while everything was being set up and prepared for the western wedding ceremony on the nearby beach, Nicole Aleksandar (and of course all the guests) still had enough time to visit the beautiful temple grounds and have a short photo shoot.

Later in the afternoon, when the sun was already a little lower on the horizon and the heat of the day had eased a little, we drove our small wedding party to the beach.

The wedding speech was of course held in German and was a combination of western wedding elements and a Thai water blessing.

The water blessing ceremony is the actual wedding ritual in Thailand. The bride and groom receive the blessing of their families and friends.

This ritual is perfect for integrating your guests into the ceremony.

There was great jubilation after Nicole and Aleksandar said “I do” and exchanged vows, and of course they had to raise their glasses in a toast.

Of course, the wedding cake was also a must. By express request, it was to be a Black Forest cherry cake 😉

Transporting one of these at 35 degrees in the shade is always a challenge and only works with lots of ice and thick polystyrene boxes;)

Our photo and video team naturally accompanied us throughout the day and recorded every step of this special day.

 

“Listen to your heart” – luckily I did. We had almost booked with someone else when we were looking for a wedding planner in Thailand. I searched again and found Thomas and his team!
After an initial inquiry, we received a prompt reply and after talking to each other via WhatsApp, it was immediately clear – this was the right person! The decision was 100% the right one. No matter what questions, concerns etc. and there were a few, when you can have so little influence from a distance, we are not used to that 🙂 but every question was clarified in a friendly and quick manner, all concerns were cleared up and so it became a unique, beautiful unforgettable day! I would even say that our expectations were exceeded, from the organization, decoration and photography to the entire process, it couldn’t have been better. All the people who were involved from Thomas’ side were friendly, nice and funny (I’m just thinking of the photographer at the temple when he involuntarily lay down 🙂 I think we all had a super nice day with unforgettable moments. All in all, thanks again for making our dream come true!
