Koh Samui, Koh Phangan & Koh Tao

THE BEST WEDDING LOCATIONS IN THAILAND

Would you like to get married in Thailand, but you are still not sure whether Phuket is the right destination? Then we would like to introduce you to some alternatives, because Thailand has a variety of great locations for your dream wedding. At this point we present the best wedding locations in Thailand.

Koh Samui, Koh Phangan & Koh Tao

On the east coast of Thailand, you will find the three neighboring islands of Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, and Koh Tao, nestled in the Gulf of Thailand. The island group captivates with its seclusion, yet it is just a stone's throw away from the mainland. Koh Samui, the largest of the three islands, has its own international airport, making the journey a breeze. Whether elegant resorts with private beach access or private luxury villas with infinity pools, Koh Samui offers the right accommodation for every wedding couple. Therefore, Samui is clearly one of the best wedding destinations in Thailand. For those who find Samui a bit too lively, Koh Phangan may be the perfect alternative. This island is not only famous for its monthly Full Moon Parties but also houses a particularly spiritual local community that can host unique wedding ceremonies. Koh Tao is by far the smallest of the three islands. The so-called "Turtle Island" has preserved a large part of its original charm and has its own pace. However, this does not mean that luxury is lacking here, and wedding couples are often delighted by this dream island.

About this destination

Generally

Koh Samui, with an area of 247 square kilometers, is the second-largest island in Thailand and is located approximately 700 kilometers south of Bangkok. The island's residents primarily make a living from tourism, coconut farming, and fishing. Alongside Phuket, Koh Samui is one of the most popular travel destinations in Thailand.

How to get there

The most convenient way to travel is via the international airport on Koh Samui. Alternatively, there are hourly ferry connections from the mainland, usually from Donsak or the provincial capital Surat Thani. The neighboring islands of Koh Phangan and Koh Tao can be reached by speedboat in approximately 20 and 90 minutes, respectively.

Best travel time

The most popular time to travel to the Gulf of Thailand is from February to April, and during this period, sunshine is almost guaranteed. In contrast to the west coast, the monsoon season in this region typically starts in November and lasts until the end of December or early January.

Highlight of the Destination

Bottle Beach (Koh Phangan) - One of the main reasons to travel to Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, or Koh Tao is undoubtedly the dream beaches. We could publish an endless list of secluded beaches, but we have chosen Bottle Beach on Koh Phangan as a representative example. Big Buddha (Koh Samui) - A 12-meter-high Buddha statue in the northeast of the island is visible during the approach and is one of the most famous attractions on Koh Samui. The temple is accessible all day, but a visit is particularly worthwhile in the early morning hours. Diving & Snorkeling (Koh Tao) - The smallest of the three islands has become one of the most popular diving spots in the world for good reason. With a bit of luck, you may even encounter a whale shark underwater here. <br />
